Imagine a place where there will be no more pain or sorrow or death. Imagine
being at peace with God and totally without fear.
This is not a fantasy, it's a real and perfect place, ruled by a perfect God,
and only those who are without sin may enter.
But What Is Sin?
Unlike any other creature, man has the ability to choose between good and evil.
Evil is simply disobedience to God. That is sin. God's commandment is "to
love your God with all your heart..." and, "to love your neighbour as
yourself". Have you? No-one has, as the Bible rightly says, "All have
sinned and fallen short of God's glory."
When you see the mess the world is
in today, it is through man's selfishness and greed. In fact, all sin comes
from selfishness, and the Bible says,"the wages of sin is death". (Rom 6:23)
This means to be cut off from God - "Your sins have separated you from your God;
your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear." (Isa 59:2)
Because God is in Heaven, separation from Him means eternity in Hell.
What is Hell?
God has given us the choice to accept or reject Him. Because God is
love, joy, peace, etc., if we reject Him, we also reject these benefits.
So hell is a place where God's attributes aren't. The Bible states that
in hell there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, the
very opposite to the promise of Heaven.
Will I go to Hell?
Only if you want to. God loves us so much that He made a way to save us
from hell. He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sin (which
is death and hell). "God so loved the world (that's us) that He gave
his only Son (Jesus) that whoever beleives in Him shall not die but have
eternal life." (John 3:16)
That is why Jesus died. He took our place, so by believing in Him we may
have eternal life.
Jesus said... "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to
the Father but by Me."
Therefore it is only through Jesus that anyone may be saved from
eternity in Hell.
God wants to be your friend, and friendships require some commitment. He
has shown His love for you by sending Jesus to die in your place. God
could make you obey Him, but then that would make you His slave and not
His friend.
This is where your free choice comes in. God wants you to believe in
Him, and love Him because you want to. Only then is it a true
relationship.
You have a choice to make right now. It's entirely you decision where
you go from here.
